Donald “Dino” ”Mr. D” Jose Savella, 86, of Pahoa died June 26. Born in Hilo, he was retired from the former GTE Hawaiian Tel and Hawaii County Band, a hunter, fisherman, musical entertainer — both solo and with the David Chung Trio at the former Islanders Night Club — Hilo High School alum, Hawaii National Guard veteran, and worked at Keonepoko Elementary School.
